Camera Panning Technique

While panning the camera please keep in mind not to keep the shutter speed beyond 1/60 (depends on the speeding object & the ambient light) you also may need a fill-flash on a bright sunny day.
You can put your camera on Shutter priority. Focus the object & pan the camera in the same direction in which the object is moving, continue to move the camera even after you have squeezed the release button (click).
Play with this technique & you will be able to master it. Let's have a few examples.

Vacation Dahanu-M.S.-India Feb 09

Dahanu is a small town by the sea is famous for its chickoos. Word Dahanu means "village of cows". But now it has become one of the major commercial & inustrial centers in Thane District. 50% of total chickoo production in India comes from Dahanu. It is also famous for its coconut trees, rubber balloons & rice mills. It is 145 km from Mumbai central & 115 km from Borivli, a western suburb of Mumbai. It is 2 hours drive from Borivli (door to door). Driving is a pleasure on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway if you start off early in the morning. Dahanu has been a week-end picnic spot for Mumbaikars for years and tourism is another major source of earnings for people of this beautiful sea-town. My wife Alpana & I have been regular visitors to Dahanu for over past 9 years. Recently concluded trip to Dahnu with My wife Alpana & son Neil & his both grandmothers was a great relief from our hectic life in Mumbai. I am posting few of my snap-shots of our trip to Dahanu, 24-26th Feb 09.
